FIFA Interactive World Cup | Already Breaking Records

The FIFA Interactive World Cup 2013 is only three seasons in and it's already eclipsing previous editions’ records. Over 1.6 million participants have registered for the 2013 edition, making it the most popular edition in FIWC history, and we aren't even at the halfway point yet!

The FIFA Interactive World Cup (FIWC) has just surpassed 1.6 million players participating in the annual tournament. Following the first ever FIWC in 2004, the tournament has grown significantly and in 2010 secured its place in the Guinness World Records as the largest online gaming tournament. This year’s FIWC only kicked-off in October and in just less than three months has attracted a staggering 300,000 more players than participated in last year’s entire event, breaking its own world record.

How FIFA 14 Should Be Tested

Each release of FIFA sees a tactic grow in popularity until everyone online is using it as the way to win. But is there a way that EA could spot what might become an exploitable tactic, and possibly step in to make some alterations? As it turns out, there is. I’ve put together a video with a recommendation to EA as to how to test out FIFA 14 to spot exploitable tactics, so let’s hope that the promise that there isn’t one best way to score becomes a reality.
