After two days of national championships and 3 days of the Electronic Sports World Cup organised at the Paris Games Week, electronic sports, under the ESWC (Electronic Sports World Cup) banner, put on a breathtaking show for the over 100,000 spectators seated in front of the stage, a world record for a video game competition.
French FIFA legend Bruce Grannec has today been crowned The Electronic Sports World Cup (ESWC) FIFA 13 Champion in Paris. Bruce conquered 32 of the world’s top FIFA 13 players in the Grand Final winning in the final versus Romania’s Ovidiu “Ovvy” Patrascu, with EGL8 Champion Julianooo taking 3rd spot.
The Electronic Sports World Cup (ESWC) FIFA 13 Grand Final kicks off today in Paris. 32 of the world’s top FIFA 13 players will compete today in the qualification stages with the Grand Final taking place on Saturday.
The Electronic Sports World Cup (ESWC) European Online Qualifier is organized by Esports Games Arena and is taking place today. The tournament is on single elimination format and it is an online tournament for countries without direct qualifying. (Ukraine, Romania, France, Netherlands are not allowed). Games are on Best of three (you need two victories for win the game) with the first 3 places qualifying.
- Saturday 6th October (20:00 GMT) : 1/64 – 1/32 – 1/16
- Sunday 7th October (13:00GMT) : 1/8 – 1/4 – 1/2 – Final
(Note that winners of the qualifiers will only win an invitation to compete in the ESWC Grand Finals in Paris. Travel and accomodation must be taken care of by the winning players themselves)
